Why CommunityIQ requests access to your Google account.
Connecting a Google account is optional and is always initiated by you. When you connect one, CommunityIQ asks for permission to read your list of calendars and to manage events on the calendars you select. We use that access for one purpose only: to show, create, update, and RSVP to your community events inside Slack and CommunityIQ.
- Read your calendar list so you can choose which calendars to connect to your team.
- Read events from the calendars you connect so upcoming events can be displayed in Slack and on your team's schedule.
- Create, update, and delete events on those calendars when you take those actions in CommunityIQ or from Slack.
- Update event attendees when a member RSVPs to an event from Slack.
CommunityIQ does not sell your Google data, does not use it for advertising, and does not use it to train generalised AI models. Calendar data is only visible to members of the team that connected the calendar and to the Slack channels that team binds it to. You can disconnect a Google account at any time, which stops all further access. Full details are in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
